IndiaFirst Life Insurance is India’s youngest life insurance company present in over 1000 cities and has a product range covering credit life, term and employee liability plans that covers typical insurance, savings and wealth requirements. IFL’s dependency on legacy storage systems was hampering their ability to utilize functionalities like media management, data deduplication, Virtual environment backup, online DB backup. Also, the explosive growth of data was making continued maintenance of same systems increasingly difficult and cost intensive in terms of providing the system to users on a priority basis. UDTECHS, IBM’s Premier Partner, proposed Spectrum Protect Suite and redesgined & implemented the solution to address IFL's current challanges as well to cater IFL's rapid data-growth for future. The project includes Next Generation Disk Based De-Duplication Technology, Latest Tape Drives for Backup Jobs and IBM Spectrum Suite, providing IFL, consistent online backup of Databases without application downtime, use deduplication feature to reduce data footprint, virtual environment backup for better RPO, faster backups and restoration improvement by 35%-40%.
