Infoblox DDI migration from OnPrem to public cloud, for a leading Manufacturer

ORGANIZATION

  • A global leader in adhesives, sealants, construction chemicals, industrial resins, and specialty chemical products.
  • Operates across manufacturing plants, R&D centers, warehouses, and a large distributor/retail network serving consumer and industrial markets.
  • Runs complex IT infrastructure supporting production systems, supply-chain operations, SAP workloads, CRM platforms, distributor ordering systems, and manufacturing automation.

OBJECTIVE

  • Need for standardized, consistent network services and managing DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI) centrally, for multiple plants, warehouses, and distributor center.
  • Aligning core network services (DDI) with overall cloud transformation.
  • Need for resilient DDI without dependency on local hardware or maintenance cycles.
  • Manual IP management using spreadsheets was causing delays and errors, pushing the need for automated IPAM.
  • Need for better control, logging, visibility, and audit trails, for the distributed branch networks.

SOLUTION

  • Infoblox DDI a scalable, centralized DDI platform that supports rapid expansion across on prem and cloud.
  • Deployed Infoblox Grid Master / Manager in public cloud with centralize IPAM database, DNS security policies, global configuration and reporting & analysis.
  • Configured On-Prem DDI Nodes (Grid Members / Appliances) at datacenters, factory & branch offices providing local DNS & DHCP services in High-Availability failover.
  • Configured Grid Replication for DNS/DHCP consistency.
  • Deployed a Grid Master and Grid Master Candidate (GMC) for management-plane redundancy.
  • Replaced Excel-based IP address tracking with centralized IPAM.
  • Implemented Reporting & Analytics.
  • Setup DNS, DHCP, IPAM, Grid, and security logs aggregation within a single plan console for view.

RESULT

  • Reduced TCO – hardware refresh, datacenter power / space & maintenance.
  • Enabled seamless scaling of DNS, DHCP, and IPAM
  • Improved operational efficiency with centralized management ./li>
  • Improved user experience and business continuity.
  • Eliminated IP conflicts and configuration errors.
  • Achieved consistent DDI policies across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Improved network transparency with centralized dashboards.
  • Gained real-time and historical visibility into DNS, DHCP, and IPAM operations.
